Here in Melbourne

We're here in Melbourne, weather is crap but I guess I can deal with that. We got in on Wednesday at lunch time, and dropped our luggage of at Michaels (my brother-in-law) and then took a drive down the Southlands shopping centre. We had a good nights sleep and then set off to the great ocean road, saw all the sites and then stayed the night at Port Campbell. We headed back to the Twelve Apostles this morning and took a scenic Helicopter fight. It was awesome, well worth it, I would recommend it to anyone headed down the way, the drive is a great experience but the flight really makes it worth while. When I get home I'll post up the photos, there are some great shots that I'm sure you'll love (Grandpa in particular). We have some good stuff planned for the weekend, Stephen is cooking us all a curry at the moment and then we're off to the Crown to meet up with some friends and will wander across to the Rialto tower to check out the city. Tomorrow is shopping day with the girls and Sunday we're off to the Telstra Dome for the Eagles vs. Essendon Game (Carn the Eagles). Not sure what plans are for next week, we want to see the goal and the museum. Will do my best to post again soon, have a good weekend .... Shee Ya !!

  • Hi Jenna ~~ Glad you are having a good time in Melbourne and a look around.
I have a daughter, Kathy (who is your Dad's cousin) who lives at Princetown.
That is near Pt. Campbell and the 12
apostles. I think there are only 8 left.
Have been past the helicopter rides, but
too chicken to go on them. Look forward to your photos. Take care, Merle.

  • I'm envious of your helicopter ride, I've always wanted to go in a chopper, somewhere speccy like the Grand Canyon or Uluru.
Ironically, I offered to take Jordan in one when he became a teenager but he declined.
